To each his own, but I lived in fairbanks for 9 months. That cold had me inventing new curse words. I took a 50% pay cut to come back to calif, but there is NO WAY I would ever live in alaska again.

Man oh man... I'd rather be freezing my balls off in the ANC rather than getting some poontang action here in 70 degree weather @ HNL... This vacation blows

I'm from New England. Went to Anchorage 2/08,2 inches of snow, not damp like NE. It actually got up to 60 1-day. Went to Fairbanks 8/09, it got cold 1-day had to turn on heat. Saw most of what was to be seen in 4 days. Ak is beautiful to visit, but being landlocked is not for me, I'd go crazy.

I used to live in Chugiak and miss it tremeandously. Running bear mountain with my dog picking berries and being the only one around gives one a sense of closeness with God up in those mountains in his country. I love the solitude the winters, break up and the summer solstice. Currently I live in Florida wasting away. Stuck in the armpit of the U.S. I want to go home.

We will live here someday, really surprised to see a city with no highrise buildings! Wishing for snow in Fl today. All I got was rain and 100% humidity, yuk!

It must seem surreal to look up in the sky and see that, I've heard that there's even a sound that goes with it I have relatives that live in Fairbanks and Anchorage they've been there over 20 yrs and there's no other place on earth they'd rather live but there.
